Terra Therma have successfully completed the first phase of the Underfloor Heating Installation in a ground breaking new eco home hidden away in a sleepy suburb of busy Wimbledon.
The new home is the brain child of architect Andrei Saltykov of Rogers Stirk Harbour Architectural Practice who employed specialist timber / eco frame contractor Wood Newton, who in turn tasked Terra Therma to design, supply and install an energy efficient underfloor heating system for the property.
The striking exterior appearance of the building is mirrored inside with the use of cutting edge materials and finishes. Terra Therma installed Underfloor heating to upper floors in a self leveling Calcium Sulphite screed and on the ground floor a polished concrete by Creation Flooring was used for durability and ashetics.
The Heatmiser building controls provided by Terra Therma ultilise both air and floor sensors controlled via touch sensitive thermostats in each room and centrally controlled via a networked central control panel.
Terra Therma director Sean Casey stated “where ever possible we advocate the use of floor and air sensors in domestic properties as it provides an un-paralelled level of control! We network each thermostatic zone so they can be operated either individually or from a central point. From the central point we can monitor the system to improve operating comfort levels or if needed add remote control via either the internet or SMS messaging to bring the heating on or off!”
