The Environment Agency published its first performance league table for energy efficiency among businesses and public sector organisations this week, as part of the Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC) Energy Efficient Scheme. There are some 1,301 different businesses and organisations taking part in the scheme, and the league table ranks them in order of the speed and effectiveness with which they have managed their energy-efficiency requirements.
The top three spots in the league table went to 99 Bishopsgate Management Limited, Arena Coventry Ltd and Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, demonstrating the diversity of the participants in the scheme. Energy-saving measures included the use of underfloor heating, energy-efficient lighting, the use of renewable energy sources and insulation.
