Grand Designs Live exhibitor Terra Therma is the South East’s leading provider of underfloor heating and renewable energy systems.
Terra Therma has built a reputation for its experience and expertise in designing, installing and maintaining underfloor heating systems that provide luxurious warm floors to both domestic properties and large commercial installations, with perfect climate control and highly efficient energy performance. From a design point of view, underfloor heating will work with virtually any floor type, and with no radiators to work around, underfloor heating gives the designer a blank canvas to work from. Visitors to Grand Designs Live can see a working example of Terra Therma’s underfloor heating on display inside the four room Eco-Tech House within the Grand Technology zone at Stand L70.
The Renewable Heat Incentive is a hot topic this year, and as a leading specialist in renewable energy, Terra Therma have been working with architects and developers to advise on both the incentive funding and technology available for commercial and domestic installations. In November 2012, Terra Therma opened the doors to the region’s first demonstration Eco House, showcasing working examples of air source heat pumps, glazing, insulation and underfloor heating over two storeys.
Terra Therma Director Mark O’Brien says: ‘We are working in partnership with some of the world’s leading manufacturers and using our many years of experience in renewable technology and underfloor heating to guide architects, developers and homeowners towards the perfect specification for their build. It’s important to look at every project individually; to explore the design, budget, construction and how the property will be used to get the right fit.’
While Terra Therma’s demonstration Eco House in Essex has been busy with visits from architects, developers, MPs, installers and students, the company expects the same to be true for visitors to Grand Designs Live. ‘We’ve tried to replicate the information we have at the Eco House for our new exhibition stand,’ says Mark. ‘Visitors to our stand can meet experts including specialists from quality brand heat pump manufacturers, explore using our interactive iPads and experience the latest Heatmiser technology that allows users to individually control the temperature of rooms in their home from anywhere in the world with a mobile App. Our aim is to give a better understanding of what’s available both now and for future builds; to show how it looks, feels, sounds and performs and to answer any questions visitors may have.
